Graduates: Take any job going!

 In Job Searching, Other

GRADUATE Jamie Casey from Leeds gave his own insight to how university graduates should take up any job rather than being ‘naive’ in getting straight into their dream job upon their graduation.

“I have recently learned a large proportion of Britain’s unemployed are university graduates. I’m a graduate yet I haven’t had one day of unemployment since finishing university more than two years ago but to deem me fortunate would be ignorant.

I have earned no more than £6.50 for every hour I’ve worked since then. I’m beginning to realise a lot of graduates believe that, solely because of their degree, working in administration for little more than minimum wage is beneath them.

Expecting to walk into a dream job once they graduate is both naive and arrogant, so get real and get a job – any job.”
