\nPortfolio\/responsibilities of this role:<\/span><\/u>
\nProvide high quality education and adventure sessions to our users and provide evening activities when required, ensuring the health and safety of staff and customers. To work across teams to develop a range of skills.
\nTo complete the Outdoor Activity Instructor level 3 apprenticeship.<\/p>\n


\nWhat do we expect this role to achieve?<\/span><\/u>
\nApprenticeship<\/span>
\n\u2022 Attend training events, workshops and tutorials run by Sayers Croft team and Westminster Adult Learning College
\n\u2022 To complete a portfolio of evidence to support learning
\n\u2022 To attend end point assessment<\/p>\n

Leading and developing sessions<\/span>
\n\u2022 Leading sessions on a variety of topics in environmental education, adventure and challenge activities for day visits or residential groups
\n\u2022 Working alongside Instructors to deliver specialist sessions
\n\u2022 Taking responsibility for an area of the Centre\u2019s education equipment and supporting Mentor instructor with Budget management.
\n\u2022 1:1 meetings with mentor and line manager to support with development<\/p>\n

Grounds Maintenance<\/span>
\n\u2022 Undertaking practical conservation and grounds management tasks
\n\u2022 Supporting the work of the Grounds person.
\n\u2022 Use of basic conservation tools and equipment<\/p>\n

Sayers Croft Trust Charity<\/span>
\n\u2022 Leading activities and session support for the Charities customers, mostly SEN schools and groups.
\n\u2022 Running the Birthday parties and weekend provision of the charity.
\n\u2022 Supporting the Charities Community Education Officer in their duties.<\/p>\n

Evening Duty<\/span>
\n\u2022 Leading evening activities and session support
\n\u2022 Responding to the needs of groups in residence
\n\u2022 Providing duty cover over one – two nights a week between 5pm and 10.30 pm (a Senior residential member of staff will always be available in the event of emergencies)<\/p>\n

Health and Safety<\/span>
\n\u2022 As requested by management, assist undertake risk assessments and update safety documentation and procedures of designated areas.
\n\u2022 Identify potential safety risks to staff and visitors of the centre and work with management to reduce\/eliminate these risks.[\/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider size=”30″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1651676691967{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Person Requirements<\/span><\/strong>
\nExperience:<\/span>
\n* 6 month experience working with children
\n* Experiences of adventurous activities
\n* Experience of conservation work<\/p>\n

Skills:<\/span>
\n* Empathy for the aims and ethos of Sayers Croft
\n* Ability to work as part of a team
\n* Ability to enthuse and motivate people
\n* Able to communicate effectively with children & adults
\n* Able to live in shared accommodation with colleagues
\n* Willingness to work flexibly including evenings and weekends
\n* Basic IT skills MS word, Excel & PowerPoint
\n* Qualifications (Training will be given once in post, it is not expected the candidate will have all of these upon application))
\n* Degree or equivalent ideally in Science\/Geography BA\/BSc (hons)
\n* Archery GNAS or in-house equivalent
\n* First Aid 2 day (preferably outdoor)
\n* Climbing and ropes courses in-house equivalent or CWA
\n* Lifesaving- STA pool responder
