Benefits of doing an Internship or a Student Placement

Internships can be a great way for university students and graduates to get valuable work experience in the area they are interested in. Internships can be classed as a 1 week to 12 month experience in an organisation, which can be paid or unpaid depending on Industry/Sector, and encompass the full range of professions, from Engineering to Accountancy and Marketing to IT.

Industrial Placement or a Student Placement is a ‘real’ work experience gained within a ‘real’ working environment that will complement and support the student’s degree qualification and provide mutual benefit to both the employer and the student.

Interns Placement Success Stories

  • If I was to give advice to fellow students, I would tell them to definitely consider doing a student placement as part of their degree, even though it can be challenging, particularly to even find a placement it is definitely worth it in the long run. You will gain so much experience and knowledge you cannot gain from University alone and it can give you a better insight into what you may want to do in your future career.
