Benefits of doing an Internship or a Student Placement
Internships can be a great way for university students and graduates to get valuable work experience in the area they are interested in. Internships can be classed as a 1 week to 12 month experience in an organisation, which can be paid or unpaid depending on Industry/Sector, and encompass the full range of professions, from Engineering to Accountancy and Marketing to IT.
Industrial Placement or a Student Placement is a ‘real’ work experience gained within a ‘real’ working environment that will complement and support the student’s degree qualification and provide mutual benefit to both the employer and the student.
Interns Placement Success Stories
My placement year could have not gone better as I have learnt and experienced a vast amount of things ranging from working autonomously, taking responsibility and opportunities, building reports, analysing data, being adept in e-commerce platform, attending big scale events and learning what a fast-paced environment the working environment can be amongst other things.
I would advise students to try and enjoy as much as possible their placement year and to take on board any opportunities available to them. I would specially recommend them to ask questions whenever they have got one and to network as much as possible as you never know if you desire to work in the same company or the same people again!(BSc) Sports Management, Bournemouth Uni
